Awake, O Sleeper Awake, O Sleeper

Let it out!!!

I wasn’t super inspired to write an entire blog on the dangers of keeping all your emotions bottled up, but I was inspired to write a poem about the topic. This poem, which will likely become a song at some point, is my way of expressing the way I felt when I was silent about my struggles. How sure I was that I could overcome my weaknesses alone. I don’t know what the official title will be, but for now I’ll call it “LET IT OUT!!!”. Something I wish someone would have screamed at me when I was trapped in my mind.

“Another day, another try to get it right

I hate this routine, but I try to call it life

Is it even life if I’m barely living?

Whatever, it’s mine and I’m not sharing.

Smile through the sadness

Never let them know

Why aren’t I getting better even when I try to grow?

You don’t know my pain

You could never understand

My pride just won’t allow the help I need

But could you stay here, and just sit a while with me?”
